A Twirl and a Twist (Autobiography)

A Twirl and a Twist
A glimpse of the past is like a peep in a prologue while you are reading a book. Chapters change but the story remains the same yet there is always a conflict. There are people who become part of our lives to strengthen us, to hold us when we think we are giving up and to guide us like a compass that will serve as our direction towards the roads of life.
I was born on July 4, 1997 in San Pablo City, Laguna. I am the eldest among the daughters of Richard Torreja Tiquis and Salita Solero Tarroquin. I have two siblings namely Lovely Ellaine T. Tiquis and Lady Precious Emerald T. Tiquis. They are the reasons why a person named Princess Diane Carmela Fshyne T. Tiquis is still living in this complicated and hazardous world.
I studied at Lakes City Christian School when I was in Kindergarten until I reach Grade 3. My sister and I transferred in San Pablo Central School because of continuous increasing of tuition fee and because of different obstacles which seems to be an ordinary scene but we overcome those trials and struggles. As I finished my elementary days, I graduated with an award as a “Model Pupil”.
As I am developing from a child to adolescent, my physical, emotional, mental, social and spiritual concepts change. From a girl who does everything to a person with profound understanding.
I step high school at Col. Lauro D. Dizon Memorial National High School and belong to the Science Section. I felt ponderous pressure to my classmates because most of them are competitive not only in academic but also in co-curricular activities. But as time goes by, those people become my friends. Friends that will wipe my tears during my failures. I consider this high school life as one of the best memories I will treasure deeply in my heart.
During these days, another obstacle comes to our lives. It was my first sorrow, the death of my loving father, Richard Tiquis. It was an endless pain, a continuous sob and the hardest suffering to pass by. But these circumstances are such a beginning. I also experienced walking from our house to school and vice versa because I don’t have allowance that will support my needs in school. These experiences strengthen my personality. Despite of it, I doubled the effort to study hard, focus on my lessons and to enjoy life with limitations. After all the struggles, I graduated in high school as 6th Honorable Mention and dedicate my success to my family especially to my father and tor heavenly father, Jesus Christ.
Years passed by, scars will always be there. I learned enough from the experience and mistakes I have made. Experiences that hone me to be a stronger person and mistakes that sharpen me to be a better individual.
It was my second year in college at Dalubhasaan ng Lunsod ng San Pablo taking Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education Major in Social Studies. It is another remarkable chapter in my life. Confucius said, “Life is really simple, but we insist in making it complicated.” It seems to be difficult but I am trying my best to make it easy. Easy in a way that I am doing my best to focus better on my studies to have a better future someday.
Like what you can perceive with your eyes, changes are the only permanent things in this world. There will always be another chapter in our lives. It starts from innocence to full grown being. Aiming for a desirable and successful ending and an epilogue that will lasts forever not only in mind but deeply in your heart.
